Spring Bada-Bing 2008
So, this morning I woke up super early, for me, and went to volunteer at the Spring Bada-Bing craft show. I had a super time, even though I was soaked from the rain pretty early on. If you’re interested in some of the photos check them out on my flickr page.
Terrarium Tuesday
I drove out to the Great Big Greenhouse at lunch today to buy all the little plant babies. I love them all and now they have a cozy little bowl to cuddle in.

Crochet is cool. Really.
I started a 4 week crochet class at my local knit shop
last night. I tried to teach myself how before but I just couldn’t figure it out. I’m one of those people who needs to see it being done to learn it.
Anyway, here is a sampling of my learning curve.

I felt really comfortable about what I was learning last night. As you can see from the second photo I was, unknowingly, teaching myself to decrease. I’m super smart that way! I also need to get the tension thing under control. When I got home I tried again and feel like I made pretty nice progress, photo 3. We learned how to single crochet last night and next week we will attempt double. Wish me luck!
Lookie! Lookie!
I popped into Barnes & Noble this weekend and look what was there!

It was so pretty and funny that I had to take it home. I can hear you saying, “You don’t know how to crochet, why would you buy this lovely book?” Well, I’m hoping that the instructions are easy enough for me to figure out. I know, I don’t always follow written directions very well but I’m gonna give it a try. I’ll keep you posted on my progress. Wish me luck!
Mitten Knitten
Tonight I will be starting my first knitting class in a while, I must admit to being a little nervous. I signed up at our local knitting store for a class on knitting Mittens and Gloves.

The class will be on Tuesday nights for the next three weeks. I also signed up, with Amber, a friend from work, for a class that starts next Wednesday; we are going to learn how to knit hats. Here is what I’m using to knit the mittens/gloves and here is what I’m using to knit the hat. I think they’ll be super comfy gloves, the hat I’m not sure about because I don’t always look great in knit hats, oh well it’s all about learning how, right?
I’ve wanted to learn how to do both of these so I’m pretty excited! I guess you all know what you’ll be getting for Christmas, just pretend to be surprised, okay?
UPDATE: The mittens are going to take a whole bunch of time so don’t expect to see them under the tree this year!
